The novel is divided into chapters, each corresponding to a different life: “The Káu-sat-á” “Mountain Spirits Temple,” “The Nameless Ones,” and “Bat.”
It tells the story of two men who secretly mined for gold during the turbulent postwar era — how they extracted gold, built a mountain spirits temple to protect the small town in the hills, and encountered the nameless souls of many lifetimes within the mine.
